Fermentation chiller help

It's the gotta Brew fermentation belt hooked to some water in my fridge with a pump(Eco plus396)
Only problem I have is the water is now frozen. Is there something else I can put like alcohol or salt that'll lower the freezing point but not screw up the pump or belt?

Glycol? Ethanol and salt may be more aggressive on the pump.

Yeah I was thinking salt may not work. I know nothing about using glycol but the belt says it'll work fine with it

If you use it, use propylene glycol, not ethylene glycol. Hopefully someone on here with the same solution will chime in.

isn't that basically antifreeze? I've never really researched into using glycol

Propylene glycol is used to winter-proof travel trailer
water systems. It's pretty safe stuff.

If you were local I have a gallon I'd be happy to
give you.
