Fermentation chamber heater

I use a light bulb in my ferm chamber - 40, 60 or 100w depending on how much heating I need. Put a old t-shirt over the fermenter if you are using a bucket or carboy to keep light out. Simple and cheap!

Has anyone put the bulb where you'd put your ice and have the fan push the heat around?

It would probably work, but you will need a fairly hefty DC power supply to operate it. You'd be better off using an AC unit. You can buy small AC ceramic space heaters for less and they are available everywhere. Check Wally World or Target. I use one for this and it works very well.
