Fermentable sugars boost?

Is there any way, once in the primary to boost/increase the fermentable sugars?

boil up some dme(dry malt extract) let cool and add to fermenter.
this WILL mess up your hop/malt ratio.
unless higher alcohol is a priority over taste i would leave well enough alone.
