Ferm temps ??

Ok so i brewed a German Alt Extract kit from Northern Brewers 3days ago. I used Safale US-05 pitched at 68 F. I have kept the fermentation Temps at 62-65 F for 3 days now. Fermentation has been going great good Krausen and the beer is still fermenting good. My question is after the Krausen drops and fermentation starts to subside. Should i raise the temps up a few degrees say 70 F and keep it there a few days before i rack 2 secondary? Or should i just keep the temps the same let the beer settle some then rack to secondary? I guess i'm wondering after initial fermentation stops do i keep temps the same or raise them up some to let the beer settle? Thanks for any advice guys.

I usually start off at the very bottom of the yeast's fermentation range for the first few days to a week. Then I slowly let it rise to near the high end to ensure complete fermentation. It won't hurt late in the fermentation to let the temps up. It is more critical earlier.

I don't think it will matter any, your still within the ideal temperature range of 59-72. I don't see how raising the temp will improve fermentation. If you want to increase the esters then you'll want to raise the temp to 75-77. I wouldn't even rack to secondary just leave it till the yeast is done and then bottle.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ya i usually wouldn't rack into secondary. But i need the Carboy for another batch i'm fixin 2 do. I'm trying 2 get somewhat of a never ending pipeline going. I have in the past not really worried about fermentation temps being a rookie. But after reading these forums i have controlled temps on my last 2 brews. The first one turned out way better and i think this one is going 2 be great as well. This site has taught me so much without all of you guys i don't know what i would do. So thanks to all you great homebrewers for all your wisdom it really helps out the rookies such as my self. About 2 brew a honey brown ale next!!
