What are ya'lls favorite apps for home brewing and why...I'm lookin for some good dl's for my first all grain batch this saturday! :rockin:

Brewpal.

Cheap, and it's got close to everything you need. Clean interface and helpful timers for mashing and boils.

I tried BrewPal for a while, but stopped using it. Was too quirky for me, although it has some good tools within it.

Two related apps that I've found helpful is a Unit Converter and the BJCP Style Guidelines. Both are free in the app store.

I recently downloaded a "BrewingAlarm" app that I haven't checked out yet.

I wish there a Beersmith app.

I use brewpal. I have a beer page.

I've tried a few and BeerAlchemy is by far my favorite. And I can sync it with BeerAlchemy on my Mac

I really like iBrewmaster, it's great for recipe formulation and an easy interface. I think it's about $7 now (bought mine when it was $5) still worth it since I use it almost everyday. They are constantly updating with better features too.

I have tried some of the other ones out there but I always come running back to iBrewmaster.

It does tell you the estimated SRM, IBU's, etc. Also has timers and keeps track of your current brews to remind you when to transfer, bottle and serve.

I also like uBrew Calc for quick gravity calculations.

I've been transitioning all my recipes to iBrewmaster. The iPad is a hell of a lot more convenient on brew day than a full laptop. Extremely configurable but it has not been without bugs. Developer is quite responsive to bug reports though.

I hate to not have a certain app but how much better can iBrewmaster be considering the price difference? They only show one preview screen in the app store, thats kinda weak. I guess Ill have to check out their website...

Brewsmarts and Brewlab. I think both were free. It would be sweet to have Beersmith and be able to sync.

Better than what? Brew Pal is iPhone only, and Brewzor is a gost. BeerAlchemy Touch is comparable, and possibly even preferable if you already use BeerAlchemy on the Mac, but it's the same price as iBrewmaster.

+1 for iBrewMaster. BrewPal doesn't seem to be updating any longer, and crashes too much on me, so I tried iBrewMaster, and it's great. Still has a few bugs, but much more stable and more feature rich now! Love the recipe sharing capability. Also, great for quickly creating recipe formulations!
