I just brewed an oatmeal stout with some pretty great results. Was thinking I want to make another, but make some change and add some coconut. I was looking forward to adding coconut creme in the last 10-15min of boil, but now I'm seeing that the fats and oils are bad for my beer. I can't find a specific thread on this so I thought I'd ask.

Do fats and oils just effect head retention, or is it going to mess with other parts of fermentation?
