Yes. I found the last episode very insulting. Everyone knows the intergalactic symbol for love is 3 hearts like we all possess and the symbol for home is %~ We're are now aiming our laser at your planet. Suffer the consequences.

I'm wondering if there is some setup for a season 3 in there because the finale was very anti-climactic. I need to go back and see what all that stuff was in the older cop's secret room. Were they supposed to be alien symbols or something?

I did like that opening montage of all the dead people from that family. Did they ever show what happened to the son that assisted in trying to kill the butcher?

Fill me in on this ... 3 hearts? Intergalactic symbols?

I liked the ending personally; each character met the fate they were expected to which was a bit boring but each had a soft Midwest jab; Ed dies for hitching a wagon to a crazy train, Hanzee lives despite being a psychopath but in the aftermath of Wounded Knee incident it's a light revenge story. The entire Solverson family reunites but all are wounded either mentally or physically. Milligan is resigned to being mediocre despite all the progress, the tall poppy gets cut down.

There are so many little subtle things with Fargo, Peggy making that legit soliloquy about the bleakness only to to be bluntly shut down. When the show started I was nervous to watch it, not that many shows invoke that feeling anymore.

I kind of caught onto the feeling of clash of cultures and communication halfway thru this season. Halfway thru you got the feel of changes in what was the old west and indian territory to almost a present day timeframe. There was constant loss of communication which lead to violence (boundaries of KC/Minn/ND/SD/europen/indian). A couple of references to Sisyphus of every day starts over and not being able to stay where you were yesterday and sometimes not wanting to evolve (Ed). The narrator reads a story that occurred decades ago and some things may not have been recorded accurately. So people and time have progressed or regressed to stay behind in violence (Hansy). The feeling of karma and evolution of a civilization's interpretation of progress (KC's office). I think it was a big question of how evolution continues. Sometimes it pure luck like the helicopter pilot jumping onto the ship when he should have been killed. Others are the baby being tossed to safety from a helicopter. Other people choose violence and death based on history.

Hank said he was attempting to create a new language so there's no misinterpretation thru communication. So why was that flying saucer flying around? Was it encountering a new world? Watching over their experiment? Invading our world? Would their communication to us be understood correctly?

My reference to the symbol of love and home was maybe Hank's attempt on making something perfect for him may be interpreted differently from the aliens. Who's to say the aliens symbol of love isn't 3 hearts because their bodies have 3. Or what their home looks like. Would it be insulting to be called two hearts short?

I like the season because it was only a year. If it was to take 7 years to come to the answer while it wandered in off sub plots I would have been disappointed. I saw 12 minutes on the DVR and said they gotta sew it up quick and can't go any deeper so it had to be philosophical questions. Then Lou quoted something from past history from an old radio broadcast. I wanted to see markers along the way that would point to obvious answers. But we don't necessarily have blatant markers thru life or history. I don't know. I gotta google what the experts said :)

First season was one of my favorite shows I've ever watched. Martin Freeman was amazing. Both his and Billy Bob's character arcs were so fun to watch. Being fluent in ASL, I got a good laugh from the deaf guy's misinterpreted comments. Really I love everything the Coen Brothers touch.

The second season was really good, but with so much violence, it wasn't as fun for me as the first. It had tons of references to the movie which was cool to see. The flying saucer stuff is totally a Coen thing. Remember the raining fish from season one? This show is superb. I can't wait for next year.

All the characters are fantastic. Almost like caricatures, but not over the top. I was really bummed that Kieran Culkan died so quickly. He totally stole the show in episode one. What happened to Nick Offerman's character? I don't recall. He was awesome in this.

Also, did anyone notice that the "future" Mr. Numbers and Mr. Wrench were in Hanzee's final scene in season 2? So f*cking cool!

I nearly pissed my pants when Officer Lopez asked Gloria if she had a "putter inner"...!

I love the little details.

I thought Season 1/2 were phenomenal, I liked Season 2 more but both were good. Kirsten Dunst was awesome. Not feeling this Season as much. I thought that Brother would save Brother and that might be a solid twist but alas ...

This season not as good as the first 2; the bar was set pretty high, but it is still very good & yeah the little details. The accents & the phrases you only hear in MN. And Officer Lopez is just great

Last 2 episodes are nearly as good as any from the first two seasons

Gotta be honest; between this & The Leftovers, I have developed quite a crush on Carrie Coon

I agree. Next time I meet Yooper I'm going to pepper her with a lot of "ok then"'s. I thought the first two season's were great. Altho the endings were quite odd and left for your own interpretation. Even now I wonder if there's a tied in meaning in all seasons. Maybe this season will culminate in a more direct message. It is the last episode "Don't ya know?"

ideas for spinoff series, if not for season 4: what has Mr Wrench been doing the last 4 years? (time between season 1 & 3)

OR

the adventures of Nikki & Mr Wrench; they make quite the couple, don't they?

OR

VM Varga, the early years

The one small odd moment I can't wrap my head around is the videotape. So ridiculous and funny but how couldn't he rectify his wife into doubting it. She just gets up and leaves and that's it. Maybe I missed a small clue along the way or maybe it was a very convincing wig.

Season 1 and 2 are among my favorite seasons of any show. Amazing. Haven't watched season 3 yet, plan to binge it. Also, for any readers check out Before the Fall by Noah Hawley. Heck of a book.
