See, I have nothing against Favre, and don't disbute he can still be a very good QB. I just disagree with you in terms of the general direction of the team. By the time the REST of the offense has improved, Favre *will* have retired and they'll be scrambling to bring in a QB. I think they - the team - would be better off perhaps sacrificing a win or two this year and trying to develop a young QB. Doesn't have to be Rodgers if he really isn't any good (in which case they blew a pretty high draft pick).

But, if Rodgers isn't the long-term solution, they could have tried to bring in someone halfway decent over the last offseason, if Favre hadn't basically held them hostage with the whole "I'm coming back, no, I'm retiring, OK, I'll come back" song-'n-dance.

I like the Pack, I like seeing them do well, and I like watching Favre - but by the time the other 44 guys are anywhere close to being playoff-caliber, Favre'll be gone and there will be a huge hole at the biggest position.

And yeah, I know - I just don't get it, right? :D

EDIT: Let me add something; Favre can be a very good QB in the right situation, but when he's put in a position where he HAS to be the savior every weak, he tends to struggle. He did well this week, bully for him, glad I'm not matched up against you in FFB this week - but I would be surprised if over the rest of the season, there were more games like this one than games like Week 1.

Okay, but who is going to be better than Favre? Green Bay drafted a QB but he is no where near starting. As I said earlier, if Rodgers were heir apparent he'd be playing. Young QBs who can play don't grow on trees. With teh way the NFL is, GB could make the playoffs next year and Favre could still be at the helm even 2 years from now.

I'm not going to argue about it anymore. Green Bay has a ton of young players who are developing. Either way it is going to be a long year, no matter who is QB. If we had a potential stud as back-up, I'm sure he'd get playing time at some point. You just don't throw your franchise to the curb after he has given so much to the city and the fans.

The last thing I'll say before you ban me for being an annoying prick is that I think you underestimate the degree to which Favre has the organization by the balls. As long as he's in town, he'll be the starting QB, regardless of whether it's Akili Smith backing him up or Tom Brady II. The fact that Rodgers is not playing means absolutely nothing with regards to whether he's any good or not.

Who cares? They are the youngest team in the league. I love how you guys act like I'm saying they are going to be in the Super Bowl.

Honestly, I haven't even been following the bickering between you guys here. I just like being an instigator and fanning the flames.

Chad Jackson looks pretty good for the Pats. I have a feeling that he'll be Brady's deep threat before very long.

I misread one letter in there and it totally changed that email's message.

oh... f*ck

You need 23 points from Wilford tomorrow night. Not impossible, but not likely.

The only team guaranteed to win is more_Bruschi. He has 2 players left and his opponent has none.

I have a good chance to win, as does Desert Swarm and D-Bricks.

Damn Bird thought you guys were running away with it(just got back from the bar) We might pull a Giants on your ass and win this.

Close, but not quite.

Penny had a lot of yards, though; you still wanna talk trade?

That's the cost for each of us to buy StatTracker individually; is it cheaper to upgrade the league as a whole?

I think they charge $10 per person in the league.... no way around it.

Nah, I should have, but it's hard to start him vs. the Pats instead of Hasselback vs. the Cards. I'm really not sure which one to hitch my wagon to now.
