False bottom

I am in the process of converting a keg to a mash tun. I was curious what everyone was using at the bottom the keggle. Are you using a false bottom or something else? I was hoping to find a cheaper solution.

A false bottom is the easiest way to go in my opinion. Most companies make them to drop right into a converted keg.

I'm using one that I bought from another local homebrewer a few years ago. It's basically this one http://www.ebrew.com/advanced_brewing/stainless_steel_false_bottoms.htm

Now...this is a cheap one, and I'm not a huge fan of it. It gets the job done, but I'd like one that folds. I'm in the process of upgrading my rig, and will be buying one of Jaybird's false bottoms that he sells on here. I hear they're well worth the money.

There are a number of them out there and I am sure you can find one to fit your needs. or something to spark your thoughts and then come up with your own.
