Going to try using amd use a wilser bag and false bottom from brewhardware instead of my basket next brew. The false bottom I got is high enough to keep the bag off the element and thermo probe.

After ive got the bag out and before the boil, how do folks remove their false bottoms? I figure I can just fish it out with a hook or something, but wanted to ask here if someone had a good solution. If not, I guess I could just leave it in there as the immersion chiller coil can sit on it without bothering the heating element.

Any down side to just leaving it in there for the whole boil? It's all stainless.
