From our very first attempt at any type of fermentable beverage whether it be brewing beer to making mead or wine etc. we learn things with each and every batch.
Unfortunately we also sometimes forget little things, common sense things and simple things we may take for granted.
So here is a little public service announcement about my own bonehead move of the day.
Perhaps some of you can think of, or have made some simple faux pas yourself you could share to help keep our compatriots in mead safe and ummm....clean.
*** When aerating and oxygenating at the begining of your ferment, especially when using bottled oxygen and a ss airstone. When the phone rings DO NOT turn your head to answer it without turning the O2 off first....cleaning a honey/maple lava like flow of a recently started batch of acerglyn off the table, floor even wall is a time consuming, sticky, unpleasant adventure. ***
