I just knew I had a packet of Munich dry yeast in my freezer, it's been in there for a few months. In order to use it up I brewed a PM dunkelweizen last night. When it came time to hydrate the yeast I...uh...um...realized that I had a packet of Windsor, NOT Munich. Oopsie, no turning back now. :cross::D I'm curious to see how this comes out as I've never used Windsor before.

Anybody else start a brew and then realize that you didn't have what you thought on hand?

Yeah. Not as different as two different yeasts though.

"I thought I had some crystal 10. All I have is 120. We'll see what it does!"

The first time I tried brewing from a kit I didn't bother taking inventory before I started. When it came time to add hops I realized that there were none in the box. I went around the corner to Vitamin Cottage and luckily they had some dried hops. It was a wheat so it ended up working out.
