Hello there! I'm Ben. I'm 19 from dreary Norfolk, Uk.

Trying to learn as much as possable before I try my first brew. Gunna buy some basic equipment when I get paid and try and make something easy. I'm hoping that if I start small then I'll learn enough from here, the rest of the net and experience to start making some killer brews. lol.

I just found out that making homebrew is in my blood. My dad and grandad both made homebrew; my dad made beer, my grandad made wine. That's not nessisarily a god thing tho, apparently both were awfull. My dad actually gave up beacuse a pressure keg blew up in his living room. lol. All years before I was born.

So yeah, hopefully I'll do much better than they did. With any luck the internet is a better archive of information than "my mate ted", some flaky book from a charity shop or however else they got they found out how to do it. lol

Ben

Welcome. I'm a relative newcomer here as well, but I'm on my 6th batch and haven't had a bad one yet.

I wonder if there is a gene for homebrewing. My dad homebrewed before I was born as well, and actually I've gotten him BACK into it.

Welcome, you will find a wealth of knowledge on this forum. Your dad was probably using table sugar and baker's yeast his beer. Brewing in the 60's and 70's was supposedly nothing like it is now. Kind of hard to make bad beer these days.
