Hi I was wondering if anyone could help with a question. I took an initial hydrometer reading of 1.060 but a few weeks later came across a kilo of liquid malt extract and decided to add it to my brew. I was wondering if anyone would know roughly, how much it would of increased my first reading to. 1.070 mabye? Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok thanks..so 1kg of lme would increase a gallon of 1.060 to 1.097 so if I had a 9 gallon batch I would divide the .037 by 9?

Not quite, one kg is equal to 2.2 US pounds. One US pound = 1.037 Points Per (US) Gallon.

Ok so 0.037x2.2 / 9 gives me an increase of 0.00904 so 1.069 that's good news I've got a nice strong brew! Thanks for your help.
