I hope the Pens' broadcasters die. Seriously. They're the worst homers of anyone on the planet - not worst broadcasters, worst sports related human beings, ever.

Every time a Pens player is touched, he was "hauled down" or "grabbed" or "tripped."

Every time a goal is scored, it was goalie interference or a high stick or something else that was some sort of real, imaginary, or made up infraction.

It's absolutely brutal to try and listen to them call a game. I'm a fan of the game and enjoy watching teams other than my favorite play, but I cannot tolerate watching the Pens' home broadcast.

Please. While Paul S is annoying, Bob Errey has some of the best eyes in seeing things that others don't in the game. I know you would rather have the Phily announcers do the game. :)

I wonder why the buffalo version isn't on NHL center ice?

p.s. Crosby get's his 600th (and 601st) point tonight. 7th fastest in NHL history to reach that level. Time for the Crosby-envy to come out (after I post this).

I couldn't care less, really, I really prefer a set of broadcasters that is objective and equally critical and praising of both teams. Unfortunately, the Pens' broadcast thinks it's their so responsibility to appease/enrage the Steel City mob and sell tickets. I think if I was a Pens fan, I'd have full season tickets just so I could watch the games without having to watch the home games on TV.

They're brutal. Every team's broadcasters are somewhat biased...it's part of the job of marketing the team, but at least call it what it is. When your team sucks or the other team is better, let's at least not be idiots about it. The Penguins, contrary to the broadcasters' message, are not Christ-like water-walkers.

Rangers win 4-1, pulling away. New hats breaking in nicely........

Del Zotto hooked me up tonight with his production. Sunday is the end of the season, last few days here for the league championship for me.

Rangers win 4-1, pulling away. New hats breaking in nicely........

Pens get a win also (5-3) over Buffalo, so the gap remains at 5, and the lead over Phily 4. Rangers and Penguins have 4 remaining, Flyers 5. It's going to be a brutal week for all involved:

Rangers remaining games:
Bruins @ Rangers (Sunday, 7 pm)
Rangers @ Philadelphia (Tuesday 7pm)
Rangers @ Penguins (Thursday, 7pm)
Capitals @ Rangers( Sat 7th, 6:30pm)

Penguins remaining games:
Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh (Sun, 1pm, NBC)
Penguins @ Bruins (Tuesday, 7pm)
Rangers @ Penguins (Thursday, 7pm)
Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh (Saturday 7th, 4pm NBC)

Flyers remaining games:
Ottawa @ Philadelphia (Sat 1pm, NHL Network)
Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh (Sun, 1pm, NBC)
Rangers @ Philadelphia (Tuesday 7pm)
Buffalo @ Philadelphia (Thursday, 7m)
Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh (Saturday 7th, 4pm NBC)

I'm ready for the big finish!! All this team does is win big games!! Let's get it!!! Cause its the CUP!! :rockin:
LET'S GO RANgERS!!!!!!!!!

This.

The last week, with all three teams having games against each other, is going to determine the conference winner and first round matchups. NJ is only 4 back from the Flyers and if the Flyers don't finish well, they could drop to the 6 seed.

I can't believe that I am actually going to be cheering for the Maple Leafs. :drunk:

What kind of bizzaro world am I living in?!??!?!?

wierd.....

on a side note....Philly sucks asscakes.

How do you score three in the first and the get completely dominated the entirety of the rest of the game and say the opponent sucks?

How do you sneak out a shootout win because your goaltender has a horseshoe up his ass and say your opponent sucks?

Misguided Canadians.

4 is bigger than 3!! :rockin:

I hope the flyers get by the penguins so Ottawa can play them at some point in the playoffs....doubt they beat pittsburgh though....

You realize the goal "awarded" for winning the shootout doesn't actually count as a goal scored for statistical purposes? It's merely an indicator of who won the shootout, so it's 3 = 3 and Ottawa did better in the shootout to win the game, but let's compare the rest of the game:

Flyers out shot, took fewer penalties, out hit, and won more faceoffs. They dominated Ottawa for he majority of the game after Ottawa took the 3-0 lead in the first. If you're happy with Ottawa's performance, based solely on the fact they got an extra point for winning the shootout...well, I guess when you're team rarely makes the playoffs, you have to look for silver linings somewhere.

Making it past the second round only twice since the '92-93 season is sad and I'd say that definitive means you suck more than the Flyers based on performance, records, and general success as compared to your definition based on a single shootout win.

Well, the Sabres may have screwed themselves with that loss (especially when combined with the Caps win). They are essentially 2 games back since they are 2 points down and Washington holds the ROW tiebreaker.

Somebody needs to tell StL that the regular season isn't over yet. Shoddy play going into the playoffs does not bode well.

Agreed, from what I saw they didn't treat Columbus as a threat and it bit them hard.

I have faith though, we clinched the division and to be honest, kinda glad they're not first overall, that Presidents Cup has some bad ju-ju around it.

Ottawa didn't play there best, but really, Simmonds with the face goal? BS luck, can't spin it any other way.

Good teams find a way to win when faced with adversity. Flyers didn't. Ergo, not a good team.

The Sens have exceeded all expectation on them this year. Philadelphia is barely playing up to there expectations. And with the flaky goaltending from bryzgalov at best (Tell us about the universe again, you weirdo fruitcake) I don't think your team has a hope in hell of getting out of the first round.

Penguins in 5 in round 1, book it.

I'm starting to like Ottawa fans, Pens in 5. I would have said Pens in 6 over the flyers, but like 5 better. :)

It's a Donnybrook baby!!!!! Hahahahahah, make it easier for us!!

Suspensions going into the playoffs??

And I'd rather be lucky than good sometimes...it's a goal either way. What's your point? A goal scored for off a teammate's face is no different than a deflection goal against off a teammate...it happens. It's part of the game.

Good teams find a way to win when faced with adversity. Flyers didn't. Ergo, not a good team.

Since the Flyers have won more games, I guess that simply makes them the better team.

Flyers outscored the Sens - 17-13 on the season series going 2-1-1 in the season series. Flyers have more wins overall in the season, more regulation and OT wins, and they won the season series...I guess since they found a way to win, a lot more often, the Flyers are the better team by your own logic.

The Sens have exceeded all expectation on them this year. Philadelphia is barely playing up to there expectations.

You're clearly confused as the Flyers traded two of their top forwards and a lot of folks didn't think this experiment would get them to the playoffs this year. They changed goaltenders, they have the most man games lost to injuries, and they have the most games played by rookies in the league.

I'd say they are exceeding just about all expectations considering the trades, roster moves, injuries, and rookie play...and don't forget, they lost their captain for the season less halfway through.

Again, I think you're confused as Bob is backing the Flyers pretty well in this game against the Pens and the Flyers are dominating the Pens physically and on the scoreboard. 5 unanswered goals by the Flyers to go from down 0-2 to up 5-2 in less than 2 periods of hockey against the "hockey gods" is alright I guess.

Even with Gary's help of several non-calls on Malkin and Crosby in this game, the Flyers are doing just fine with the sissies and crybabies in Pittsburgh.

Penguins in 5 in round 1, book it.

We'll see, but considering the season series between the Pens and Flyers is 4-1 with the Flyers outscoring the Pens 20-16, with flaky goaltending from Bob and Bryz, that says your theory is at least slightly flawed, based on recent history. None of those games went to a shootout, and both of the last two wins are with the Flyers coming from behind and the Pens are about to get their asses handed to them by the Flyers physically because everyone knows the Flyers are tougher.

By the way, the flyers might have won if Giroux had not been Mr fancy pants in his shoot out attempt.

My wife and I both commented that we didn't care for that attempt, but at least he has the balls and confidence to try something out of the box.

Pittsburgh is a bunch of trash. Look at these whining b*tches complaining and throwing a fit because they didn't get their way this game or season against Philly. Asham started the second round by crossing the red line and going after Rinaldo after the initial scrum and tossings were handed out. This is Pittsburgh being Pittsburgh with their sense of entitlement.

Who is the Hulk Hogan ****** bag wanna-be Pens fan behind the Flyers' bench?

Your not biased for your team, eh? Maybe you really need to go back and look at the video again.

I know one thing...the series is going to be entertaining.

Maybe about the scrum, but the rest of the numbers don't lie and I'm amused and entertained that you didn't touch any of the stats I posted.

Flyers have owned the Pens in the series and are only one point behind them on the standings. If the Flyers were anything better than their current 4-7 in shootouts, they'd be ahead of the Pens as they hold the ROW tie breaker. It's likely that home ice in the first round, if these two play each other, will be decided on the final game of the season when they play again.

From the game's recap:

The Flyers are 5-0 at Consol Energy Center since it opened in October 2010...

Looks like home ice might not be that great for the Pens...

Pittsburgh appeared on the verge of chasing down the New York Rangers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference a week ago.

Unstoppable these blokes are...

...the Flyers erased a 2-0 deficit against Pittsburgh for the second time in two weeks. Philadelphia got a point with an overtime victory on March 18. Philadelphia got a point with an overtime victory on March 18.

No such dramatics were necessary this time. The Flyers dominated the final 20 minutes, beating Marc-Andre Fleury three times before Voracek's empty-netter to deny Fleury in his bid to tie Tom Barrasso's franchise mark of 226 career victories.

Denied.

Who has the flaky goaltending?

And I love that the NBC recap of the coaches' spat discussed that Granato doing the talking for Bylsma is like letting your wife do the talking for you.

Hahaha! Even the head coach is a b*tch.

When was the last time the Flyers won the cup?
