For all you out of-towners in Denver for the GABF, be sure to check out Avery down in Boulder at some point. Every day this week they have been pulling out just absurd kegs of everything you can imagine or wish you could imagine. Tomorrow is a vertical tasting of The Beast with bonus kegs to be tapped. Plus its all free.:mug:

I was just there in September, and the day I went on the tour they were sampling some of the spin off brews that they had been working on. The two I remember most were the barrel aged (sour) version of Salvation (which was really good) and a blend of Hog Heaven, Samaels, and Salvation that was barrel aged.

I hope they release their new Baltic Porter soon, which, believe it or not, is barrel aged. When I was there they said the name was Barbant, but it was a working title.

I'm anxiously awaiting the newest Mephitopheles' Stout release. I'd be thoroughly impressed if they did a vertical tasting of that. I'm jealous. :rockin:

Yesterday they had a sour cherry Mephitopheles that was aged in oak barrels I believe. It was so popular that the brewers were talking about making a production version of it.

The are starting a new series after the new year called "one-and-Done" where they are making production beers aged in different oak barrels and I think Barbant is planned to be the first.

Hmmm that sounds delicious. I can't wait.
