Just got Beersmith, and am trying to enter a couple grains into the recipe. Don't see either of these two. Can anybody help me?

Pale Ale Malt (Briess)
Dark Munich Malt.

Thanks.

dark munich malt should just be under munich malt, then there are a couple different lovibonds listed.

I bet pale ale malt could be subbed for 2row in beersmith. The numbers and colours should be similar.

And if you know the grain properties you can always create custom grain definitions. Say the dark is 50L....just copy the 20L and modify the attributes.

Just a word of warning... Before you hit "Remove from Inventory" after you've brewed it, make darn sure that you have the items in inventory. If it fails to find an item, it will stop removing at the point of failure, and will not roll back the previous removals. And if you try "Add to inventory", it will add everything back regardless that you didn't remove some items.

What a PITA. I had my inventory nicely documented but it hosed it BAD.

I'm now using a spreadsheet to do inventory.

You can also add anything you want. I had to add some briess grains, went to their website and got all the tech info and entered into beersmith.Click on Grains and Extracts on the left and then above that a little click on Add New Grain or Extract. Fill in the blanks.
