Well my plans to bottle tonight changed before a move and the corny I thought was ready to go the new gas dip tube I got doesn't fit. In order to simply transport the beer and not serve, can I remove the gas dip tube and put the beer under a layer of co2? Will the keg hold the gas during the 8 hour trip?

Thanks

I'd try pressurizing it and see if it holds the pressure. The dip tube serves the function of holding that O-ring. The post may leak without that there.

You might get by with slathering the outlet threads with Teflon tape, and tightening the post.

Remarkable. Do you still use an o-ring under the gas post - or are you just relying on the threads to seal on their own?
And what keeps the poppet from dropping out?

Cheers!

No o-rings or anything... They just hold pressure somehow... The poppets can't fall out because of the threaded post they're sitting on top of.
