Eletric Stove Element Inside eBK?

I'm in the process of building my first eBrew system. And while browsing through my junk I found a few spare electric stove top elements (220V) hanging around in a box. Has anyone ever tried using one of those INSIDE the kettle?

I'm thinking that the long coil surface should make for a nice low density setup.

Obviously, the electrical connections between the wires and the element will have to be water tight, but this is not a big concern for me.

While I am not using the elements inside the kettle, I have found that they absorb enough moisture from the atmosphere to trip my GFCI, so I have to heat the elements for a few minutes without the GFCI in the circuit to bake out the moisture - then I can enable the GFCI and proceed with my brew day with no more problems. I suspect the moisture enters at the ends of the elements where the connections are, but really have no way to know for sure. I would guess that the remaining part of the elements are water tight, as they get exposed to water during cooking (spills and boilovers), but I don't know.

Yes, I saw that post earlier. I think I'm going to do a few tests with the immersed element and see what happens. I need to get a hold of a 220v GFCI first though.
