Hi Folks,

What is the effect on a Kolsch if 5 ounces of priming sugar is used instead of the instructed 4.5 ounces? Assuming of course that it doesn't cause the bottle to rupture. Will it be foamier, or sweeter, or creamier? Or will it make no difference?

Thanks
Bart

More priming sugar will result in a higher level of carbonation.

The beer will not be sweeter, creamier or foamier.

The difference will be minimal 0.5 oz having a very small effect overall. I wouldn't give it another moments thought.
