Hello,
Can I ask if the fitting shown in the link is suitable to use to add an element to a brew pot? I think I would like to be able to take the element out for cleaning if required. This is my first go around with an electric setup, having only done propane brews.

You would be better off going with a tri-clamp fitting and element. Here are some that will work:
