... to the text message I sent you last night while my Cincinnati Bengals had the Packers bent over and crying for mommy.

It's a good thing the storms blew in, because losing by a triple digit score would have been REALLY embarassing.

Favre looked great last night! He's in mid-season form!

Go Bears! :rockin:

Ahem....

Last two games the Patriots have played?

71-3 combined score. :)

big deal. the pats have been good forever. I had to suffer through years and years of ridicule as a bengals fan, and it's my time in the sun now.

Dude, you never wore an Andre Tippett t-shirt in junior high when the team was in the middle of a 1-15 season. Lots of 2-14 and 4-12 campaigns in the memory banks, as well.

The Pats were a HORRID team for most of my childhood (cripes, Dick MacPherson? Rod Rust), which, to be honest, has made the success of the past few years all the sweeter. I feel bad for the Bengals, I hope they do have some more success this year because the fans who have stuck with them deserve it (and Carson Palmer's a helluva QB).

Farve? He should have hung it up a while ago. You'd figure after this long in the league he'd have learned when NOT to chuck the ball up for grabs.

i know what you are saying, bird. when i was younger and the bengals sucked ass, I at least knew that they could beats the pats. :)

I'm just dealing with last season badly. Everything was going so well.... and then..... down goes palmer and my hopes.

You know, the last time the Patriots really, really sucked was early in the 2001 season, when the Bengals handed us our asses. I remember being despondant, thinking "Cripes, the Bengals just handed our asses to us!"

Then, we faced the Colts in Week 3, and I remember clearly Brian Cox knocking the sh*t out of their tight end, crossing over the middle. I really think it was that one play that turned the franchise around. The game was close, we ended up beating the crap out of them, and suddenly we had an identity.

See, the Bengals may have always beaten up the Pats (I don't know if that's true or not, but...) - but the Pats have ALWAYS owned Indianapolis. Even our 1-15 season - the "1" was against Indy. It long precedes Peyton Manning.

Anyway - isn't it great to be able to talk FOOTBALL again?

I got your message, but I was at work until midnight....I figured I didn't want to wake you with a reply. :)

Yeah, it is going to be another LONG year for GB.

The Bengals will be right up there with the best of them this year. That offense is goign to be unbelievable.

One other note--I think GB will surprise a few people this year. Bank it. 7-9.

New England @ Cincinnati
Party at Walker's house

It's on.

I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me get the wide-screen plasma TV that was planned for NEXT year a little early, seeing as how I have a new appreciation for life and all. :)

Farve brought GB a Super Bowl after a (30 year?) drought. He has brought me many years of football enjoyment.

If he is diminished in skills, I figure he can only ruin the team for a few years. He has EARNED THAT RIGHT. In this case he has help in screwing things up (management).

I will continue to support him even if they never win a single game during the Farve era. I only hope hat he does not get hurt.

That is what being a GB fan is all about.

It is so nice to see Packer fans suffering while watching Favre crumble. You guys want to talk about ridicule? Try being a Bears fan in New Jersey going to school with Giants and Eagles fans.

By the way, the Bears are undefeated in the Super Bowl against the Patriots! :D

Is spelling Favre's name incorrectly also what being a Cheesehead is all about?
(just messin' with ya)

Tis so true......

BTW, I know completely what it is like to be a suffering fan. I've been a Brewers fan for 35 years. I am a Packer fan and all, but I have always been and always will be a baseball (BREWERS) man first. Now THAT's pain! (unless, of course, you're a Cubs fan;) )

Hey, man, have you been to that new Cardinals Stadium? I saw it on Modern Marvels (or whatnot), looks nice

The '82 World Series must have broken your heart. Fingers, Yount, Stormin' Gorman, et al

I'm looking forward to it! Since they may exceed the Packers this year. But I'll still root against them and pull for the Pack on OCT 29.

One of the(only) reasons I tune into a GB game is to confirm that Favre still has color-blindness(interceptions) and a lack of depth perception(sack-master.) Whee!

Ok, here comes the GB homer in me... It was all Sherman's Fault!!!! Friggen moron went year after year not playing in free agency and just letting everything slide down hill. I can still see that bewildered look on his face staring at his play book on the sideline . If any of you think the debacle called the Packers is all Favre's fault you're not watching this team. They suck from all angles and will suck exactly the same if they put junior (Rodgers) in there. And Dude, I agree 6 or 7 wins...

And that's just cold bringing up the '82 Brewers ;). But I was there to see Yount hit his 3000th. :)

You guys should be proud of the '82 Brewers, they gave it a good run. Great team. Better to lose in 7 than to never have been there at all.
I suffered from the '67, '75 & '86 Bosox losing in 7 before finally hitting paydirt in '04

Yup-cold, but it was ages ago and I've gotten over it. The thng that bugs me is the Brewers are still trying to sell tickets based on that 82 team. Bobble heads, remembrance days, etc. The packers did the same durng their 30 year drought and probably will again for the next 30 after Favre retires. C'mon, those years were fun and all, but they're over. Show me something for today, not yesteryear.

BTW, I missed Robin's 3000th, but I saw Molly hit in Game 39 of the streak.:)
