Dry Yeast Starter

Hi all...first time poster, long time reader.

I had about 1/4 pack of S-05 lying around...it wasn't too old and I wanted to see if it was still viable. So, I made a small starter and it is fermenting away...my question is this: can I pitch this into a larger batch of wort?
I've never done this with dry yeast before and am wondering if it can be done or if it's even advisable.
