I brewed a Stout beer a couple weeks ago and decided to add hops (saaz & northern brewers). After I added them there should be a foam on top created by the hops. Last time I did it the hop foam and sediment settled down nicely but this time it kept hanging on the top preventing me to bottle it without getting it into my bottles. Does anybody know why it didn't settle to the bottom?

What is the gravity of that stout? Was the last beer you dry hopped also a stout? Thinking that maybe a higher gravity beer may keep the hops floating.
I have used a cheap woman's knee high stocking soaked in starsan as a filter over the end of my siphon to keep the hops out of my bottling bucket.
Good luck

No the last beer was a pilsner. I figured they'll settle nicely but I think next time I'll use a filter as well. I shook it and it seemed to go away but not like they should. I hope it's just the gravity of a Stout ;)
