Dry Hopping in Keg

Hello. I'm going to dry hop an IPA today. Wondering if anyone just puts the hops in a hop bag and tosses them in when kegging without a string coming out of the top of the keg or anything--just floating.

That's my thought. I'm hoping the flow of the beer is not disrupted.

I put them in a hop sock and then use unflavored dental floss (the flat Glide type). I have never had any C02 leak out of the seal using this type of floss. If you just toss it in without it will be hell if it gets sucked to the tube.

The hops will sink as it cools. Maybe the bag has some buoyancy, but if not, it will sink.

This is what I usually do, but I'm still wary of a co2 leak from another source. Still a little gun shy I guess.

I use a floating dip tube with a screen on it.

Too late for this batch, but the Clear Beer Draught System works well for dry hopping in kegs.

I just drop them in in a paint strainer bag, no string and leave them in until the keg kicks. Never had an issue, been doing it for years.

Stainless steel mesh tubes are pure win for this.

MoreBeer has corney keg lids that have a welded-on tab for attaching the hop bags. I usually place a few glass marbles in the hop bag to hold it in position within the beer.
