I have an Ipa thats been in primary for 3 weeks. Was going to Dry hop it, But it tastes good and SWMBO likes it just how it is. Would it be ok to rack half of it to bottling bucket then dry hop the remaining half in the primary for anothr week ?

Sure...shouldnt be a problem at all...the other option would be to split in to two kegs (if you can) and dry hop one...and not the other...I've been very happy with dry hopping in the keg.

Thanks for the quick reply, I bottle so dont have any kegs yet. and all my other fermentation buckets are full. I am also assuming i should use half the amount of hops?

Sounds good on the half-sies. It will be interesting to compare the two.

the issue would become the excess headspace in doing so, unless you move it to a properly sized secondry. However, 1 weeks worth of oxidation may not be too hurtful

keep in mind that hop flavor/aroma will fade in time - so perfect hop level now may not be as present in 3+ weeks after its carbed and conditioned in the bottle

of course, but OP is bottling so I assume that options not available. it'll change the beer a bit, but could create a CO2 blanket by adding some more fermentables
