Dropped my Bourbon Barrel, lost 1/2 gal out the top.

While moving my plastic big mouth to I could add the Makers Mark and Oak Cubes, I tripped on the baby gate and went down, I rode it down and it landed upright, but I lost just under a 1/2 gal out of the top. I went a head and racked it to a secondary (siphoned). I'm fearful that I added o2 to the beer, I took a gravity ready as well after adding the makers mark and it tested high, it tested at 1.024, OG was 1.061. Because of this, I'm worried on both ends, I fear it's going to one, be runined because of o2, two I fear if it is OK, it's going to be on the soft side.

Id be more worried about injuring your body. The beer will be fine, O2 isnt going to ruin the beer and its not going to be "soft." The yeast have been roused and monitor gravity. No worries.

Ouch, hope no injuries. On the other side, what does soft mean?

Nope, I'm OK. It's gravity at the moment is not where I hoped it be, soft meaning low ABV

Since you are already adding Maker's Mark and oak, if you want to raise the ABV a little, just add some more booze. Yes it will affect the taste, but after the third pint, you won't notice. :bott:
