I've got all the hardware I need to upgrade my single faucet tap tower to a double faucet.

For those that have done this, at what angle from the original hole do you offset the new one. I'm thinking drilling a new hole at a 45 degree angle from the first one should be fine.

I think anything smaller than 45 wouldn't allow the elbow shanks room in the tower.

Thoughts?

I was thinking about doing that as well, but opted for a picnic tap - a lot cheaper and no drilling. If you are going to add another tap, I would go 45 degrees and make it lower than the original tap to get enough space to get tools down there to tighten.

The lower you go, the less "swing" you will have on the tools to tighten said fittings.

You will also be hitting against the currently installed stuff!

I would keep the same height, and separate by more than 45 degrees if needed, after you do some measurin' and "eyeballin" inside the tap tower.

look inside for clearance....visit a bar.

Okay, it was a battle but I got it!

45 degrees proved to be too tight so I had open the hole a little and slide the shank over. The nut is too big for the back of the elbow shank and bumps into the other shank nut. So it's tie-wrapped right now.

Tomorrow I'll get a smaller nut or a spring clip to hold it in there.
