I purchased the stuff I need for kegging beer off of craigslist about a 1.5 years ago. I have been using it with no problems so far. I put in a new tapper for root beer and wasn't able to get it carbonated. I found out that I need to carbonate at 30 PSI for the root beer. Since I don't want my beer at that pressure I realized that I need to get another regulator. When I researching regulators, I found mine on the manufacturer's website. It is designed for beverage dispensing, but I was surprised when I saw it specifically said NOT FOR BEER. Anyway, I sent an email to the manufacturer with a few questions.
The question regarding not for beer was replied to with:
"It is not designed to protect downstream systems which you need for any beer system"
So, my question to all of you is, what is the definition of a "downstream system"
Thanks!
