Dogfish 60 different now?

I recall coming across a thread about Dogfish 60 tasting different now and someone trying to get Dogfish to acknowledge something. I didn't think much of it until I got a 6 of it and it indeed was not nearly as hoppy and flarvorful as some older bottles I had in the beer fridge? Anyone know anything about this? I usually get 6-12 of these per month and it still is tasting like the newer weaker brew.

I picked up 6 last night that was bottled in May and I didn't notice any difference. It's a very popular beer, so I can't imagine they changed it, but anything is possible. Could've just been a bad batch that you had.

It could be a variance on the batch that you're buying right now. Does this beer have date codes on it? It could be you're buying older bottles from a store that does not properly handle beer, too.

I don't have any dated bottles, but they have been brewed this year for sure...just dont recall specific dates. FWIW...the difference in taste was more substantial than a bit of difference between batches...it simply seemed less malty and hoppy...like it was toned down. Maybe the earlier stuff was an off batch, but if it was, they should always do it that way lol...it was awesome.

I tasted scorching in a raison de etra a few years back and emailed the brewery with the bottling date (printed on the neck of every beer) to let them know. They looked at their records and replied that they were having boiler troubles during that batch and sent me a free t-shirt. I was stoked on the shirt but pretty bummed that they had issues during brew day and still let it go out to market.

My point is, email the brewery with the bottle date and your specific questions and they'll likely answer them pretty quickly.
