I am being hyper nutty because my cooled wort was exposed to a possible infection source. My fermentation was also odd in that it wasn't very active or foamy. I used White Labs Kolsch. This could just be CO2 bubbles all over the surface, but it also sorta looks like when raspberries mold and get that fur on them. I never got to see this point in fermentation before, as usually the top of the carboy is all mucked up and you can't see through it.

Chances are, it's fine. I've seen all sorts of variations on fermenting beer appearance, and they all came out fine. There's always a possible infection source - you just hope it's not something like dropping your cell phone into the cooled wort...

Can you get clearer pics? Your camera appears to have focused on the outside of the carboy, rather than the surface white stuff.

Sorry, but I don't have a clue on how to use the advance features on the damn thing. It's strictly a point and click thing with me. I wasn't even aware I could do that. Let me do some reading in the manual.

I pulled the bung and looked down into it. It's just a bunch of really small bubbles trapped in what's left of the yeast gunk. The condensation made it look fuzzy.
