Planning my first lambic that Im going to do in a month or so. Did a quick easy recipe on beer smith of 7 pounds pilsner and 3 pounds wheat. Estimated OG is 1.054. I then added 6oz maltodexrin @5 min and the OG hasnt changed. I know sacch doesnt eat malto, but brett does. So did it not adjust because the sacch doesnt ferment it or will it not affect OG and just give some stuff for the bugs to eat.

Also I planned on doing the early fermentation in bucket to help with any blow off then transfering everything to a 5 gallon carboy, including trub and yeast cake. Anybody see any issues with this?

gravity is a measurement of the density of a solution, so whether sacch can ferment it or not has nothing to do with OG. I'm not sure why BS wouldn't have increased the OG for it, but it should have

plan sounds fine, good luck with your first lambic. be patient
