I just got an Iphone for Christmas (a couple weeks early) and I've been uploading my commercial beer indulgences to the app for the last week or so.

I just wondered if anyone else is using it and what your name is on there.

Mine is of course Revvy_homebrewtalk.

Does anyone who use it input their homebrew consumption as well?

I use it all the time, have a few close friends that do as well! It's got some cool features, but I wish there was more to it. Just logging what you drink doesn't seem very "social".

Anyway, it's cool to see who's drinking something that you haven't had. I'm cdubbaya over there.

It was funny, I was thinking about starting some sort of list in my phone of commercial beers I've tried, starting the first of the year, then I got this phone and find this app. I really just want to keep track of what I've tried, but being able to connect with folks on there more would be cool too.

I have on my Blackberry but it doesn't work... I used it for a while on a different device and then my company switched me to this POS phone and Untappd no longer works...

You got a smart phone huh? Welcome to getting numb legs on the john :mug:

I got a droid a year ago, the first one I ever had, AND the worst phone I ever owned. It got so bad that it constantly butt dialed my girlfriend and my sister, it even started dialing while holding the phone on the palm of my hand. It was so bad the my GF decided to get me my Christmas Present 2 weeks early because she was tired of getting constantly called by my phone just being on my hip.

I love my new Iphone 4s I now understand what a smart phone truly is.

I got on the Droid wagon a little over a year ago with the Motorola Droid 2. I really thought it was something for the first month. Then the problems started. I have since had to replace the phone 3 times, and have had to hard reset the phone a half dozen times. This one need to be replaced to, the speaker is blown in the earpiece, it buzzes like a turd when I'm talking to someone. I've waited painfully for the new iPhone, and I'm going to get my wife and I 4S's in a month or two.

So you're no stranger to the numb legs then. ;)

EDIT: I don't care what anyone wants to say with their "fanboy" comments, Apple makes a quality product and always have. Most other electronics are crap by comparison.

I think I just sent you a friend request...maybe.

Yep, I got ya! I wish there was a "wall" type of thing like Facebook. It's nice to see what people are drinking, but it would be nice to have a place to ask friends about other beer related stuff.

Room to grow I guess.

I'm Flomaster on Untappd

Not sure how to add friends via the application. I type Revvy_homebrewtalk and get nothing. I do get a Michael C. though. Is that you Revvy?

This reminds me of how lucky we were or fortunate that Bill Gates had the vision for MS. How we really only had a choice between Beta and VCR, how Blu-ray and HD DVD? were our only choices. Now it looks like there are so many apps that soon no one will be able to talk to anyone other than whoever is on that app.

Oh I just found out that you can add your own homebrew on there. So I've been adding what's in my pipeline to it. All of mine are listed as Brouwerij Du Revvy. I even put some of the recipes in the notes section. Don't know if other folks can view them.

It's gonna really skew my stats when I start checking in my homebrews.

This needs a more detailed system for rating beer. Stars and notes doesn't cut it. Looks promising but the Android app is clunky.

Revvy, the recipies are viewable.

Was just looking at your Leffe clone and actually have my first batch of this on tap now. Thanks for sharing the recipe, its real good stuff.

Oh cool! Glad you like it. I've been drinking that and my Kentucky Common quite a lot lately. I have a feeling I'm going to have to flip them and rebrew them again soon.

Ya, I've been on for a while. User name dunnright00.

You get a badge when you drink 10 of your homebrews. I think another at 25?

I've got mine as Caspean Homebrew.

Joined Untappd a couple months back, but haven't been active, as I didn't really see any reason to. Just sent friend requests to everyone on this thread, perhaps seeing what other are drinking will challenge me to keep updating what I'm drinking.

It could be more interactive or dynamic. But I'm just using it to track what I've drank this year. I kinda wish I had had something like this since I started drinking.

Same with books I've read. My mom for like 30 years has been writing the titles of the books she's read into a journal, primarily because sometimes she'd start reading the same book and get into it, and realize it seemed familar. So she just started keeping track.

I've always been a voracious reader. When I was a teen I'd finish 2-3 novels a week. I've slowed down with age, and time committments, but I wish I knew how many thousands of books I've read.

Same with beers.

Just downloaded it last night, i'm wus67 on there. I'll try adding everyone on here if there are no objections.

I used Untapped for a month or so but ultimately found that I rarely used it. I guess an iPhone app is the last thing I'm thinking about when I'm enjoying a brew.

Ok, just sent friend requests to everyone in this thread, so if you get a request from a Wes B. It's just some guy from HBT, not an internet stalker.

just downloaded the app. I like your idea about logging brews Revvy. Might as well add some of you too.

I'm Edcculus, just as I am everywhere else on the internet.

I tried Untappd and I actually like Pintley a whole lot more. Seems a lot more organized and easier to use for my feeble brain. Anyone here on that?

I'm fairly new to this site, but I'm on there as jplally.

I use it mainly as a means to keep track of what I've tried and see what a few friends are rating things. Once you get into it and build up a list the badge system becomes pretty fun.

I'm looking forward to adding my first homebrew (bottles should be good to go in 2 weeks!)...but now i'm taxed with the pressure of coming up with a name for my home brewery!!!

I downloaded it, but haven't really added friends yet. I'm not completely sure I like it. I'd really like to back fill it with beers I know I've drunk. That would really skew it and make it look like I drank a lot in one day though.
