and how you came home every day to watch the air lock bubble and after bottling you had to tell your wife to hide the beers and do whatever it takes not to tell you where they were!

Yep, and the second, and the third, and the....however many. Now my fermenter lives under 2 blankets in an ice bath, so I only watch/ sniff the bubbles when I change the ice. She still gives me looks....Kyle

I was a carboy watcher. Not any more. My boys always get the job done, not worried.

Me too.

I had my carboy sitting in the cardboard box it came in, and every day at least once or twice a day I'd go over there and slide the box up,check on it, watch the krausen (which I was completely worried about), watch it bubble, and pretty much just stare at it.

Now I'm more of a set it and forget it type. Makes it a lot easier when you're doing bigger beers that take two months or so to ferment out. :mug:

Maybe, I remeber the time but it was either an American Pale Ale or IPA from William's home brewing kits, they were my first 2 brews. That was about 30 years ago or so.

Like a kid seing something new for the first time that you helped create,it was fascinating.Especially when it would bubble and make noise.Never will forget it. Had that kind of feeling something that is rare being an adult.Such a simple thing so great to live for.
