I'm going to dive in and make my own stir plate, but I'd like to make sure all the components are compatible before I start soldering stuff. The only component I'm really unsure about is the potentiometer - I don't quite understand the ratings.

Here are my components:

Fan:

Enclosure:

Magnets:

I got two packs because I didn't realize there were 2 in each pack. However they're tiny so I might double up...

Potentiometer:

10K-Ohm Audio Control Potentiometer with SPST Switch

Resistance: 10k Ohms +/-20% tolerance
Rated Power: .05 watts
Sliding Noise: <47mV
Switch Rating: 3 A 30 VDC
Total Rotation: 300 deg +/- 3 deg

Power Supply:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005EP0TC0/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Output: 12 VDC 600mA

Will this potentiometer/power supply/fan combo work well, or should I try to get a lower/higher resistance pot?

Thanks in advance for any help!
