What do you guys think of this? Seems like just a bunch of 1/2 inch pvc and gravity feed from a bucket or a bottle?

I had 1 of them just like that many years ago. They work well.
Definitely looks like an inexpensive way to sparge, probably works great
Mine was CPVC, held together by plumbers glue. I put a hose connection on it and slowly ran my sparge water to it. I used a hacksaw blade to make slices in the bottom of it about every inch so it would drip and sparge from my elevated keggle with sparge water at 168 or so. Ahhh, the good ole days before my Mash and Boil... 
Other than the fact that sparge water does not have to be showered, dribbled, sprayed, it would work fine.
