I'm getting married in Sept, and of course I'm making the beer.

It'll be self serve, so I'm worried someone will walk away from
the tap while it's wide open. It almost always happens.

I saw the intertap faucets with the spring and thought it was a great idea.

They say the spring is specific to their shank and faucet. I already own
Several 630S perlicks, so I'm not interested in repurchasing everything.

Well I ran to a spring company up the road from me and paid $8 for some
stainless steel wire for making springs.

I spent about 30 seconds making the spring. The first shot works perfectly!

It sits perfectly in the shank and rests perfectly on the faucets ball inside. It also pulls with ease (I've heard some complaints that the intertap spring is tight on the pull.

These will most definitely make it into my portable kegerator faucets! No more accidental bumps and mishaps.

Couldn't have been easier

Yup, I put the actual Intertap springs in all six of my 525SS Perls with standard SS shanks last Fall and they work great.
Occasionally I'd have a faucet dribble when I opened my keezer lid (t-tower) but the springs totally eliminated that.
Very happy with that mod...

Cheers!

You wouldn't happen to remember what the gauge of the SS wire was would you?

I'd really like to make a few of these for my 525P faucets as well...Intertap springs are only $2/ea but shipping is ridiculous.
