Since brewhardware is out of stock of the NPT HotPods, and honestly they have a relatively simple design that can be made at home for very cheap, I decided to go the DIY route. I took a small storage bowl w/ lid I had in the kitchen, drilled a 1.25 inch hole in the base with a hole saw, put a ground screw in the side, put a cable grip in the plastic lid, and boom! Element enclosure. It cost me about 5 bucks for the ground screws and cable grip. I just got the element in the mail today. The chord and the 1” npt nut will come monday.

It mounts to the kettle from 1”npt male of element going through enclosure, through kettle wall and a 1” npt screwing onto the element within the kettle. The element can easily be replaced by just taking it out of the kettle and enlosure and sliding another element in. The gasket will be between the outside of kettle and against stainless bowl enclosure.

How do you replace the element? How does it mount to the kettle?
looks to mount the same as my hot pod..
FYI you can buy the stainless spice shakers with the screw on stainless lids and make them from that as well as many folks have.

The issue I see is the plastic lid falling off every time you move the kettle to clean it from the weight of the cord which will be kinda sketchy... dont want those wires pulling loose from the element.

I have some silicone sealant that Im going to put around the plastic lid so it doesn’t rip off and to make it water resistant
