Hey All,

So I have a set of 4 pin lock kegs that were converted to ball locks. I am trying to figure out if I have enough space on top of the kegs to keep the shelf in my fridge. How much clearance over the top of the kegs do I need for the ball lock disconnects? Thanks.

you mean the height of the keg itself?

edit: if so, then YES. my pin lock kegs are 23" tall and my ball lock are 25" tall.

So does that mean 23, and done? I have exactly 23 in my mini fridge, and would love to get into kegging. Or does the connectors and tubing bring it higher than 23? thanks for any help you guys can offer.

with connectors on the pin lock keg, they are taller than 23" (maybe 24" or 25").

i have 'normal' pinlock connectors. i have seen another version of the connectors that are shorter online somewhere, but i've never seen then in person. i doubt that are short enough to keep the whole height at 23", but i cant say for certain.

I'll take some measurements when my disconnects arrive. But my kegs are around 22" without the disconnects and they use a standard ball lock.

For those that were interested... I now have both converted pin locks and ball locks here. The converted pin locks are 23 1/4" while the ball locks are 25 1/2".
