I'm wanting to add a dip tube to the spigot from a bottling bucket I use on my mash tun as I'm tired of continually tipping it trying to get that bit under the spigot level.

What I saw was a rubber stopper used with a piece cut from a racking cane but I'm not sure this will handle the hot temps or the length of time without adding a rubber taste.

Any suggestions?

This should be interesting, I am having the same issue with my brew keggle. I have to tip it to get the last gallon and a half of wort out.

Not exactly fun, huh?!?!

I batch sparge, and add sparge water three times, though I'm not too concerned until the last draining. I still tip it though holding it up, which sucks really.

No.

I had been BIABing in a pot, but finally but an Igloo water jug. I couldn't find stainless fittings at HD or Lowes and the ones I saw online ran about $100 so I decided to use my grain bag as the filter and swap out the spigot for one used on a bottling bucket.

As with most bottling buckets and these jugs the spigot sits high requiring you to tilt it to get the last bit out.

And now my deadspace is down to like a cup.
