I have brewed a Hogaarden clone, but do not know how to determine th FG.

Ingredients:

3 lbs. dry wheat extract
2 lbs. honey
2 oz. Hallertau hops
1 oz. crushed coriander
1/2 oz. bitter orange
Nottingham Yeast

OG was 1.043

Been in the primary about 5 days. Bubbling is very slow. About 1 per minute. Last reading was 1.012.

Wanting to rack to the secondary, but not 100% sure if it's ready. By the way, this is a 5 gallon batch.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers and Fair Winds,
Kevin

determine FG the same way you measure the OG or the 1.012 that you got. As for when it's ready, measure the SG again and if it hasn't gone down from 1.012 then it is ready.

the bottom line is if the SG hasn't changed for 2 (or 3) consecutive days, then it's good to go

Here's a Brewing Calculator i've been working on. if you plug in the numbers for your OG and FG, it will give you the attenuation. most yeasts want to be at least 70% apparent attenuation, you can look up the specifics for your yeast at their respective websites.
