MMM...DEEP FRIED FOODS AND BREW! IF YOUR GONNA KILL YOURSELF, THATS THE WAY TO GO!!! hell yea!

haha thats the plan...I didn't give up smoking for nothing!!

my girlfriends a bit against it though...

mix up some beer batter and start deep frying everything that will fit in that bad boy! Beer battered fish is great and really easy. You basically need beer, flour, spices and a decent piece of fish

hmm cool...maybe I can ask some of my fishin friends for some in trade of some homebrew..

Once upon a time, Fiery Sword bought a deep fryer, offset smoker, and kegerator. (In the same week.)

That week, many moons ago, Fiery Sword was 5'-10", 190lbs.

Fiery Sword is now 5'-9" and 225, but makes much better pork products, beers, and deep fried snickers bars.

And Fiery Sword lived happily ever after.

Chicken Wings! Coat 'em up with seasoned flour. Let 'em sit for at least an hour and fry those babies for a good 13 minutes @ 375F (they,ve got to be crisp to be any good) and then toss with whatever your favorite hot sauce might be. I love any sauce that is HOT HOT HOT with a nice blend of sweetness to it.

Fried Dill Pickles, my friend. Best thing you can make with a deep fryer. And fried corn nuggets... easy recipe here. Make a batter of your choice, I usually have a 2 bowls setup.

1 bowl has flour, pepper, salt mix
2nd bowl has eggs, worsterchire (spelling?) sauce, pickle juice, and you can add a dash of your favorite stout as well (guinnes batter anyone?)

Dip your pickles (spears or slices) into the flour, then the egg mix, then back into the flour. Make sure you have a good coating, then throw into the fryer...

for the corn nuggets, get creamed corn, spoon onto a dish or some sort and stick in your freezer for 1-2 hours... pull out then do same process as you did with pickles.

I like to dip my home fried foods in bar b que sauce

.....

One more, homemade southwestern eggrolls:

eggrolls:
flour, salt, pepper, egg, mix, let harden a bit under a bowl.... roll out flat then cut into strips.

filling: chopped spinach (lots), pan-fry some seasoned (red pepper, paprika, chili pepper, salt) chicken breasts then chop into small pieces, corn, and lots of seasoning... I like to use the same seasoning I used on the chicken, plus a bit of cumin and maybe some thyme.

Roll filling up in your eggroll strips, throw in fryer, dip in bar b que sauce or chipotle ranch... MMMMMM

Take a slice of piza, batter it in beer batter and deep fry the sucker... its SO good..

REALLY!?!

Is there no end to the foods one could deep fry? I am going to have to eat 4 cups of oatmeal this morning just to offset what this thread is doing to my cholesterol:)

I was serious. It's called an ice cream bomb. You can also bake it, Baked Alaska.

Jeez Orfy, I thought with fine British cuisine under your belt, you would have suggested something like cow hearts stuffed with sheep eyeballs or something of that sort. I'm surprised. :D

I thought that was Scottish cuisine

I've never done it and I was going for the shock factor.:p

I use mine for proper fish and chips and onion bhajis. It get used a few times a year at most.

If you want suggestions apart from them then I'd say onion rings, chicken pakora and chillies in batter.

dude seefresh your the man! I've had fried corn nuggets before but never knew how the did it....I know whats going in the fryer tonight!

and man I LOVE SW eggrolls.....that is awesome

I've had fried Ice cream before but they were always coated in rice crispys....really good

not sure about the pizza thing BUT I bought some oreos for later....

and this morning I had beignets for breakfast (Cafe Du Monde....man those were good)

I was completely serious about the pizza. I first had it at the fish n chip shop down the road from here... I was like "they do pizza?" then I saw him batter it and fry it... its so freaking awesome. You need enough batter so it doesnt all leak out, but the cheese melts (duh) and all the toppings meld and just .. damn its tasty! but dont fry it too long!

Breakfast was beignets and coffee

I fried some oreos earlier with some pancake batter....pretty tasty

lunch was chicken nuggets, fries, and onion rings

Dinner was fried raviolies with marinara

tried to make a funnel cake but didn't work

It's good now but I'm sure my girlfriend and I will get off of this kick pretty soon....but those SW eggrolls are deffinalty coming soon!

Anyone got a recipe for fried salad?

Its all bc of lent man! We decided not to eat out for lent.....so we got a deepfryer....and last night we added the clause that if the food comes to us its ok...so we ordered chinese..
