Hello!

Before anyone says to read the existing threads on the subject...I HAVE! And now I am more confused than ever!
What is the best starter kit for someone wanting to move up from Mr Beer, but doesn't have a lot of time or space for an actual production facility!? Midwest Supplies is located about 2 miles from my work, so I am lucky there, I was thinking about just walking in and asking them, but I would like to have some suggestions here to. BTW, I don't care where I order it from, Midwest or whatever.

2nd question - I do have a few batches of Mr Beer going right now, but I have read on here that people recommend using an upgraded yeast-not the packet that comes with it. Where does one get upgraded yeast and how much should I used?

Signed,

All the companies that sell beer supplies have their own kit, you just have to shop around and decide which you like and at what price. I've been buying most of my stuff from http://www.northernbrewer.com, and even bought their kit.

You can get yeast from pretty much all the same places. I made about 12 Mr Beer batches before switching to a 5 gallon setup, and always used the yeast that came under the cap. The only bad pack of yeast I had was an extra that I left in a cabinet drawer next to my oven.
