Dayton utility pump

I have this pump. Anyone know if this can be used to transfer wort? It has a stainless steel shaft and a Buna-N Impeller. Thanks

If it's this, then I'd say no.

EDIT: I should clarify. Can it transfer wort? Almost certainly, yes. Should it it be used to transfer wort? I'd say no.

It is kind of misleading. It says it can be used to transfer water to RVs. Is that drinking water? The body is nickel plated brass...but if the shaft is stainless, why wouldn't it be usable?

That is the style but the housing is stainless steel

its a cold water pump only, most wort is hot, only issue I can think of

Since you already have it...

It's stainless and buna-N. Those materials are commonly used with brewing. Should be fine.

Hate to revive old thread, but I came up on one of these too. Right now I have it set up to pump I've water through chiller, but have you tried it on the hot side? I know it's only rated to 140 or something but just wondering.....
