My girlfriends parents just gave be this book from their old brewing days.

Has anyone read this one? It was published in 1988, is there any outdated info I should know about?

I've been studying Palmer's How to Brew like a textbook for the past few weeks, I'm interested to see what differences there are in the brewing methods and ideologies.

Ir you already have Palmer's book you're all set but Dave's book, while it might be a little dated, is still a pretty good basic homebrewing reference. It's not going to have some of the newer ingredients, equipment and techniques from the last 25 years but it's still in print and still selling.
