FA3A36BE-B98E-4B8C-ADCF-5698FEDF1F2A.jpeg I ordered a Dark Star 2.0 and it came out of the box all rusted up. A PITA but the HBS sent a new one right away. This one came with the burner tilting way down in the front of the stand. I would think the burner should be at least close to level. I know it’s a cheaper burner. Maybe I’m being to picky?

My first burner was like that. I drilled holes on either side of the tail piece into the heat shield, ran self tapping screws in the holes, and put a piece of wire under the burner to hold it level. Cheap and easy.

I always thought the bg12 burner element had four mounting points but it appears only the center boss is threaded.

Short of welding on something stiffer than that thin mounting strap, a wire hangar is a good idea. With a stiff enough wire one might even be able to hook the ends over the top of the wind screen and skip the screws...

Cheers!
