Making the rounds this morning from another beer site:

Bad news people. Sent an email asking about using hand carts for the cases at DLD. One, they don't allow them in, and two, they are not selling packaged beer other than DL at the festival. No cases, no bombers. Have to go Friday or Sunday to get that stuff. I posted the email response below:

"Hi Adam,

Thank you for your email.

Dollies and hand trucks, even small foldable hand carts, are not permitted at Dark Lord Day. Unlike previous years, there is no carry out, packaged sales this year, so the need for dollies and hand trucks is not there like perhaps it would have been in the past. Three Floyds will be selling their beer variants at taps throughout the festival, so you will be able to enjoy those beers on site, but will not be able to purchase packaged beer to take with you. Of course, packaged sales will be available on Friday and Sunday at the brewery so you may still make your purchases then. If there will be other opportunities to purchase packaged beer, it will be posted on our website at www.DarkLordDay.com."

On a scale of "background music" to "full-on rock concert", what's the volume usually like at these things? I'm wondering if I should bring my concert earplugs.

full on rock concert, but in the corner of the fest. usually not too big of a deal in line/buying beer/ hanging out but is loud if you get close...

I'm not usually a big metal guy but I have no doubt my head will be nodding along to the music after about 10 beers.

When I went to Local Option while visiting Chicago a month or two ago, the death metal and a bartender talking about vaginal discharge on a mic started rather abruptly. A little jarring at first but grew on me a bit after a while.

I've never been and I don't have a ticket but thinking about packing up 30-40 openers and going anyway.

Wow. That email really rustled some jimmies on the other channel.

Haha, didn't look. zfg here. As stated in previous posts...if your going for that, your doing it wrong.

Nah man. This dude is ******' livid that he might not get to buy cases. He wouldn't have purchased his ticket otherwise.

No, see, the real travesty is that Three Floyds failed to provide adequate notice of this change, a serious departure from their typical approach to customer service.
Ah yes, good point. Multiple legal experts in that thread did point out that the sale of cases during prior DLDs established a legal precedent, the violation of which would constitute breach of contract, bait-and-switch, maybe even fraud.
