I'm new to brewing been mostly wine & mead now i would like to make a dark bragot using dme & some honey grain as a partial mash. i think i understand the concept. i want to try a small batch 1st dont want to waste 5 gal of something i maynot like.
does anyone have a recipe they want to share?
i like guiness & would like to make something like it.
i'll need the steps spelled out also.
thanks tom

Why dont you just make a Guinness.......Is that what your after....Or do you want a Braggot like Guinness? Stouts are not that complicated

A dark Bragot sounds really interesting. It's definitely out of the ordinary. I say go for it!

Since I see you are a new brewer, why not buy a stout kit from an online supplier and add, maybe 3 pounds of honey. See what you get. :)

Actually, since you have some ingredients, just go to www.northernbrewer.com and they will tell you what their stout recipe is. Take their recipe, cut the ingredients by 50% (except for the black barley/malt. Keep the same amount of that) and add 3 pounds of honey

It will be thin, watery, dark, and honeylike. I'd imagine it'd be something like a strong porter with honey. LOL

Why not get a Guiness clone kit, brew it up, then split off a gallon into a smaller fermenter and add a pound of honey? Then you would have both.

Thanks Guys. I Think I Will Get A Guiness Kit & Try Brewing From That And Take 1 Gallon Like Suggested & See What Happens I Might Add Some Honey Malt To The Gallon
Thanks Again. Tom
