I put my secondary in there to crash cool before racking to keg. Set the thermostat deal near 5 because it didn't feel very cold in there. Just checked on it and my beer was starting to freeze!

I didn't think it would get that cold, wow. So this won't have an adverse effect on the beer will it?

I have mine set to under 1 and the thermometer is reading 42 degrees. It works pretty good.:)
How frozen was the beer? Just the surface and it should be OK but I don't speak from experience.

Just on the top. Must have been pretty cold because the vodka in my airlock was freezing too. Luckily I caught it early and I don't think it was like that very long.
