My chest freezer died a couple weeks ago and I found a Danby 11 cubic foot freezerless fridge for $100 on Facebook. Picked it up last week and got it converted over this weekend. Still need to finish up some things to really finalize it. This will fit 4 kegs in the top shelf and another in the bottom along with my CO2 tank.

Pulled the door panel out (held in with screws that also hold the seal in place). Cut a piece of FRP (fiberglass reinforced panel) and drilled holes for the screws.

Marked the inside of the door panel for the shank locations after measuring from the outside.

Holes drilled with a 1-1/6" hole saw and 3/4" PVC spacers installed.

Drip tray and shanks mounted.

Cut a half inch plywood panel for the keg shelf and attached my CO2 manifold to the underside. I'll be adding some 2x2 supports to this before fully loading it up.

With two pin-lock (converted to ball lock posts) kegs in place. Still need to move the thermostat to the top of the fridge to improve the loading and unloading of kegs from the right side.

I'll get a finished picture tonight.

@k-os This looks great! I'm looking at this exact unit because of the footprint of our available space. How has it been working for you? And, tougher question, any idea what the dimensions of the interior are, both up top and down below around the compressor hump?

We're hoping to try and serve up to 6 out of this, and need to make sure that either 2x5gal or 2x2.5gal will fit down below with the CO2.

Thanks!!

Would you provide info on model numbers? I converted a small dorm size frig some time age. I am tired of trying to cram two kegs in it.

I can get some measurements tonight. I think you'll be hard pressed to get 6 gallons and CO2 into the fridge. Two 2.5 gallon kegs should fit in the bottom, but there may not be space for CO2 also.

These are all approximate and based on my fridge that I believe is a slightly older model than the one I reference below.
Above Compressor Hump
Depth: 19.75"
Width: 19.5"
Height: 44"

Compressor Hump
Depth front to hump: 12"
Height of hump: 9"

I can check the model number tonight also. I believe the ones you can buy new are slightly different now, with an exposed condenser at the back of the fridge. Current model number looks to be DAR110A1WDD.

@k-os Cheers, thanks man. That lines up with what I was thinking. I'll see if I can confirm this with the newest model but I would expect similar - tough to get 6 plus CO2 inside.

I greatly appreciate the response!
